Cape Coral is growing like crazy these days, and it’s not hard to see why. The weather’s perfect year-round and there are endless opportunities to enjoy the local beaches and parks. If you’re moving to Cape Coral with children or without, here are seven reasons you should love living in Cape Coral too!
The city has more than 200 parks and trails, many of which are just steps away from your home. With everything from dog parks and nature preserves to camping facilities and aquatic centers, you’ll always have somewhere close by to enjoy with your family. Recently the GO Bond Projects allowed residents to vote on significant improvements to recreational spots around town.
One of Florida’s biggest appeals is its beautiful year-round weather. With sunny days and warm, balmy nights, families can enjoy outdoor activities like golfing, boating, kayaking, and fishing, no matter what time of year it is. There are always free outdoor events for kids in which parents can socialize with other residents.
With a multitude of shopping, dining, and recreational activities within a few miles of nearly any residence in Cape Coral, you can pretty much find everything you need without ever having to cross one of the three bridges into Fort Myers.
Great Public Schools
Not all schools are created equal, and not all cities have good public school options. Lee County Public Schools boasts an 88.5% graduation rate. Parents and guardians in Lee County can rank schools based on where they reside, and they can rest confident that their children will attend the same school through the highest grade level available. Students in the Lee County district have access to a wide range of academic programs, including arts, technology, and comprehensive programs.
With great schools, safe neighborhoods, and more parks than any other city in Florida, it’s easy to see why so many families are moving to Cape Coral. If you’re looking for a home where your kids can enjoy a childhood outside and explore nature, look no further. There are dozens of parks throughout the town with countless activities like kayaking, fishing, swimming, and bike trails. Many subdivisions also have splash pads and playgrounds.
Daily Activities for Active Adults
With a mild year-round climate, it’s easy for active adults to get out and enjoy their days in Cape Coral. While you might become tempted to head straight for some of your favorite local beaches, there are many things right around your neighborhood, including 90 miles of interconnected bike routes.
Small Town Feel (with Big City Amenities!)
One of my favorite things about living here is that it feels like a big small town. It’s hard to go anywhere without seeing a familiar face and nearly impossible not to bump into someone you know on any given day. There are lots of friendly locals with quick smiles for friends and neighbors, but there are also all kinds of great restaurants, shops, and unique attractions, making it easy to stay entertained (and be in awe) throughout your stay.
